Teething Remedies Out There?

Not my Little Monkey...but you get the picture :)

I am sure many of you have seen this sad moment before in your own lives. TEETHING!!!  Aghhh.....My Little Monkey has hit a rough patch in the teething department. Nothing will satisfy. This is where I am relying on my fellow seasoned blogging mommies. Any tips for me (and her)? She does not like any of the toys we have bought designed for soothing sore gums. The thing I have found to work the best (but not all of the time) is a cold, wet washcloth for her to suck on. We also purchased some of that baby Orajel and it seems to work for a couple of minutes, but I hate to give medicine at such a young age! Whacha got for me mommies? I am all ears.......

  1. I don't know if they still make them, but I swore by "Teething Tablets" when both of my girls were little.

Good luck getting through this with your sanity in tact! I don't envy this phase you are going through a bit!

  3. Not only frozen washcloths, but did them in a little flavoring first - like a juice - that makes them even more likely to want to chew or suck on them.

  4. With my younger son we used Munchkin Fresh Food Feeders, it has a mesh net area to contain frozen items. (It is VERY messy, but it worked for us.)I would make "ice cubes," out of his baby food or freeze a peach slice. Like I said it is very messy, but we just put him in his high chair almost naked, and he would work on the frozen item for 15-20 minutes. (we never left his side, so choking wasnt an issue.)

These are very close to what we used:

P.s. - Stopping by via the blog hop! Thank you so much for the great comment on my blog!

    1. We just bought these over the last weekend and they do work great. Quartered a piece of frozen banana, and she went to town on that bad boy! You are absolutely right about it being messy...but soooo worth the relief. I will definitely try your approach the next time with having her in her diaper only. :) Thanks for coming by! Headed to your blog now.

  5. Oh poor babe! I was going to suggest the same thing as Jenny above - those mesh things with frozen items or cold fruit! Hope your little one feels better soon! I found you on the GFC blog hop, and I'm happy to be your newest follower! I'd love for you to check me out at http://www.two-in-diapers.blogspot.com and maybe follow me back! :)

  6. I used the munchkin food feeders too. My daughter really liked anything cold like broken up ice chips, but she was 14 months when she got her first tooth...so she could handle them. Glad I found you through the GFC blog hop. Megan

  7. Finally.. I had to switch browsers to comment, haha! Anywho, I am a new follower via GFC Hop. I saw your post on teething & I too struggled with & still do right now with my 5 month old. So, no orajel, it actually hardens their gums & makes it hurt more when the teeth finally break through. The best I have found to use is Humphrey's 100% natural homeopathic teething pellets. You place 2-3 in a little bit of water and rub on their gums. Seriously, I was a little skeptical as a co-worker had offered me a bottle since she knew we were stuggling with this issue. MIRACLE WORKER! Seriously. That is all I know to say. Try it out. And if you don't have any, I will be willing to send you some. Let me know. Oh.. and look forward to reading more. (SORRY for the winded paragraph, but nice to meet you!)

    1. I have stopped using the Orajel after recently reading an article about a recall they are having. Always something....anyways, I will check into what you suggested. Thanks SO MUCH for the tips and for stopping by!! :)
