Happy 7 months little Monkey! I can't believe how fast the time has flown! Here is a little something I made to put in her nursery. Subway art is a must these days for the modern nursery. I love the variety of fonts there are to choose from. I think it's such a neat way to display birth information.
I incorporated the tulip pattern from her crib bedding too!
Three married years and one beautiful child later, I want to wish you the happiest of anniversaries (3 days early of course since we'll be out of town). I'm so thankful that God put us in each other's paths. We have been through our fair share of obstacles that's for sure. But, through it all, we have always come out on top together. It's hard to believe that no matter how much tragedy a couple may face, given their faith and love for the Lord, they can still manage to pick up the pieces and move on. I can't stress enough how SO very blessed we are to have our little girl, but we will never forget the two that we lost along the way. Throughout it all, Hubby was by my side, and I by his. I couldn't have made it through our darkest time without you Papa Bear...
With the combination of our faith, daily prayer, and Papa Bear's encouraging words we were given the opportunity to fulfill our dreams of becomming parents. At now almost 7 months, our little girl is a daily reminder of how good God is.
There are many out there still searching for their soul mate. I am so fortunate to have found mine at a fairly young age. If you haven't found yours yet, I pray that you find him/her. If you have already found him/her give them an EXTRA big hug tonight. Here is a sweet little treat I made to display in our home to remember our milestone. Happy Anniversay Papa Bear! I lu you!

I have to say I'm a huge fan of goat cheese. I love the tartness and tangy flavor it has, especially when paired with chicken. Hubby and I enjoy eating healthy (bread/pasta-less) foods. We somewhat live by the Paleo diet (also known as the "Caveman Diet"). For those of you who don't know what it consists of, check out this site with a list of foods recommended...I do have to say my body feels SO much better after being on it for about 5 months now. All of my post baby weight is gone (and then some), and no bloating! We do allow ourselves some wiggle room. We are not super strict with avoiding everything the plan says to avoid. Since I am still breastfeeding, I do like to get my daily recommended dairy for the extra calcium. But for the most part, we do pretty well with it.
With that being said, here is the concoction I came up with last night while trying to empty out the fridge: Chicken, bacon, goat cheese and red pepper salad.
It was so filling and had such a unique flavor with the combinations of salty, sweet, tangy and savory. Hubby wants this one on the regular household menu. (Yesss!!! Love when it turns out good) I didn't have a recipe or anything, just paired up some things I thought would compliment each other. I feel like I could be on the next episode of "Iron Chef"...lol.
Here is a list of ingredients I used:
2 boneless/skinless chicken breasts (seasoned with Italian spices)
About 8 of those mini red peppers, sliced and sauteed (Or some of the roasted ones in the jar)
Chopped red onion (raw-just a little to sprinkle over the top)
4 strips of bacon, crumbled
Goat cheese (to crumble over top)
1 Bag of Italian lettuce mix (or whatever greens you like)
Balsamic Italian Vinaigrette
And just about anything else you like to use for salad toppers...if I had dried cranberries in the pantry, you bet I would've put those on it too!
You don't have to be on a diet to love this salad. It's super filling and easy to make. I'm all about meals that accomplish both! Thanks for stopping by, if anyone tries it, let me know how it turned out.
I am sure many of you have seen this sad moment before in your own lives. TEETHING!!! Aghhh.....My Little Monkey has hit a rough patch in the teething department. Nothing will satisfy. This is where I am relying on my fellow seasoned blogging mommies. Any tips for me (and her)? She does not like any of the toys we have bought designed for soothing sore gums. The thing I have found to work the best (but not all of the time) is a cold, wet washcloth for her to suck on. We also purchased some of that baby Orajel and it seems to work for a couple of minutes, but I hate to give medicine at such a young age! Whacha got for me mommies? I am all ears.......
