Hand Painted Nursery and Party Letters

I just HAVE to show you all what I have been doing lately. These nursery letters have become a HUGE hit in my etsy shop and I can't churn them out fast enough! Not only are they an original piece of art to hang in your child's room, but they can be personalized to match ANY room d├ęcor. I just love doing these and reading the feedback that my clients give. One of the main reasons I create, is to make others smile. I get so much joy out of making my clients happy. Here are a few of my most popular designs.

Nautical Designs are becoming quite the popular theme these days. Love the bold colors!!
"If nautical nonsense be something you wish....."

The "N" is my favorite letter in this bunch. It's just so darn cute!

Here are a few from the popular Lambs and Ivy Bow Wow crib bedding set

Super cute paisley pattern for a college dorm room.

Kelly even sent me a picture of her letters hanging up in her dorm room! Love getting feedback like that!

These Vintage Varsity sets are my most popular design. I have been getting so many good name ideas in case we are having a boy! ;)

My FAVORITE design are these letters to match a "Tutu Cute Ballerina" themed birthday party! I love all things girly and pink so I fell in love as I worked on these. Hope you like them too!

Happy Kraftin!

Some-Bunny is Making these this year for Easter

How stinkin' cute are these? I always see stuff like this on Pinterest and blogs and think to myself, "that doesn't look too hard..." but then when I attempt, it never turns out like the picture. I don't know if anyone remembers my post last year on the deviled Easter eggs chick disaster, but it wasn't a pretty say the least. So when I found these, they seemed mess free and simple enough. I have a steady hand when it comes to painting, but not in the kitchen. I wonder why? Below is the recipe and the source where it came from. WISH ME LUCK WITH THESE!
Bunny Bread:
2-1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg

Put the butter, the sour cream and water in a small saucepan and heat, but do not cook. Cool to tepid then add the remaining ingredients. Put in a kneader. If thick add more water. Let it rise double and cut into 16 equal parts. Baking tray lined with baking paper and cut the ears with scissors. Then, the eyes can be put, such as pepper grains.

Bake at 375° for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Hidden Treasures

It has been about a week since I last posted. I have been enjoying some much needed time with the family. Valentine's Day came and went. Hubby and I swapped our gifts to each other and reminisced about our first Valentine's Day together and how far we have come since then. My gift to him was of course Pinterest inspired (what isn't these days). I did a "101 Things I Love About You" gift basket. I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of it, but Dan loved it! I wrote out 101 things that I admire about the guy, typed it all up, and cut out the little strips. The great thing about this gift is you have the flexibility to be serious, funny, silly, and corny all at once. Of course I didn't actually buy 101 things to fill in a basket but I picked some of the cute and funny ones and found little gifts to put with them. Here were some of the corny and silly ones he really liked:

  • I'm hooked on you (attached a bag of sour gummy worms with a hook through the bag)
  • You're O-Fish-Ally the coolest dad (attached some goldfish crackers)
  • You have lots of energy for a first time dad (attached an energy drink)
  • You kill bugs for me (attached a little rubber bug)
  • You give the best hugs and kisses (attached a combination of Hershey's Hugs and Kisses)
  • You are perfect to the "Tee" (attached a golf coupon to go golfing with one of his best friends-My friend Tina also did a similar gift basket for her husband and we both put the same coupon in there so that they could play together...worked out great!)
Hubby had put together a scrapbook of our life for my gift. Very thoughtful! Dan is not a crafty kind of guy, but I was pleasantly surprised at the layout, paper choices, and stickers he used. And of course he brought in a dozen red roses and some chocolates. A must have Valentines accessory.

Today, as my roses were starting to really open I noticed that one of them looked like a heart! Soooo cool! One of my favorite bloggers (Theresa over at Theresa's Mixed Nuts) did a post about a heart shaped strawberry she stumbled on, so I figured I couldn't just let this one go without its own post. I always smile when I find little hidden treasures like this in nature. Enjoy!

Palmolive Fresh Infusions Review

I recently received my second VoxBox, complimentary of the coolest product review team I know, Influenster. Inside my box, I was excited to find three full sized bottles of Palmolive's Fresh Infusion dish soap, and lots of coups to share with my friends! I know you're thinking, "how excited can you get over dish soap?" Well I will tell you why...our dishwasher is broken (yes, it's on our mile long to-do list), and I have to hand wash EVERYTHING! So finding a good dish soap is so important to me. Especially one that smells good and won't kill my hands. When I was given the opportunity to try out a new brand, I felt like a kid in a candy store!

I decided to try the Lime Basil scent first. As I filled up my sink and the suds began rising, the aroma hit me. I am not lying when I say this soap smells like candy! Like a combination of Skittle and Starbursts or something. Even though doing dishes is one of my least favorite things to on my list of chores, Palmolive has made the task much more bearable thanks to the awesome scent and effective products they have to offer. It's available at Walmart for around $3.00. Totally worth it!

Pay no attention to my dirty sink please...maybe Palmolive will offer to come clean my kitchen for me next!

Thanks again Influenster for this awesome opportunity! I gave my mom the Ginger scent to try and I will share her findings soon.

Love Struck

I don't know if I have ever mentioned it here before, but I LOVE VALENTINE'S DAY! It is definitely up there on the list of favorite holidays. I am a huge fan of pink, so the fact that Valentine's Day is surrounded by pinks and reds, is one reason why I am hooked. The other and more important reason, of course, is that it is a day to celebrate love. Love is something that is so hard to put into words sometimes, but it can be the best feeling to send and receive. It is human nature to want to love and be loved by someone else. It just makes us feel good! And to designate a day to celebrate our love for one another, is the icing on the cake!

When I think of Valentine's Day, so many childhood memories pop into my head:
  • The innocent elementary school days of sending cards and treats to my classmates, and working so hard on choosing the BEST one for that cute boy I liked at the time.
  • Reading the sweet messages from my friends
  • Saving the Valentines from my favorite teachers and, yes, from that same cute boy I admired.
  • Creating adorable pink and red masterpieces in art class to bring home to my Mom and Dad.
  • Enjoying the chocolates and other treats that always accompanies this sweet holiday.
It was fun then, and it still is now. The love spark will always be within me. I am a little love puppy at heart and fall for the romantic stuff every time. I will never forget the first Valentine's Day Dan and I had together. This was actually back in college, when we had just met and were newly dating. We had only been together for a few months, and were headed out to a concert to see Dierks Bentley. I assumed since we were so new, that this type of date was very casual and I saw it as appropriate for us at the time. I wasn't expecting anything else, just to have a great time with him, as I always had on the dates leading up to this night. When he arrived, he had a dozen beautiful pink roses (which I thought was super sweet, and glad that they weren't red because we hadn't said the "L" word yet haha) and a tray full of chocolate covered strawberries with "Happy Valentines Day" spelled out on each one of the strawberries. So the fact that he took the time to write one letter on each strawberry was so thoughtful and romantic! (and I remind you, Dan is not a baking-kind-of-man) I will never forget the Valentine's Day. Such a sweet memory that I get to hold onto forever! Ahhh... and I can't believe I was able to find a picture of it! Sorry for the crappy quality. College students couldn't afford good cameras.

I would love to hear a story about your favorite and most memorable Valentine's Day!

10 Days, $10, 1 Baby

I have been following a story from one of my favorite bloggers, Christie from Satisfaction Through Christ, and I have been so touched by her efforts, that I wanted to share it with you. I had always heard that adoption was expensive, but I didn't realize HOW much families are required to come up with.  Christie's strength and faith in this process is very inspiring and uplifting! One of my favorite quotes is, "many hands make light work." and this case, it is certainly true. I have included one of her posts below for you to learn a little more about the fundraiser that is taking place:

Friends, I have been so overwhelmed by the generosity shown towards our family over the last few days.  The response has been amazing and I'm at a loss for words on how to say thank you.  I'm praying that the Lord will give me the proper words at some point.  Words will never be enough, though.

For the full story and to read our adoption announcement post, visit here!

Today has been an emotional day, but I now know {without a doubt} that the Lord has called us specifically to bring this baby girl home.
Last night we had a $10 donation come in from a friend.  I emailed her thanking her for her donation and she quickly expressed sadness at not being able to give more.  I told her that every little bit helps...and it does.

If you're anything like me, all you've seen is $35,000 and thought, "There's no way I can help with that."

I get it and I know -- it's so much bigger than any one of us but it's not too big for God!

This morning the Lord laid an idea on my heart and I've fought Him all day about presenting it to you, but I know that He hasn't called us to walk this road alone.  So, I'm excited to present our biggest fundraising effort yet....

Operation {Adoption} 10:10:1
10 Days: $10: 1 Baby Girl
Goal = $10,000

Our adoption agency has given us 15 days to raise the initial $10,000 we need.  The remainder will be due in increments until she is born.  But for now, we are praying for 1,000 friends to come alongside of us and donate just $10 each.

I know $35,000 is overwhelming.

I know $10,000 is overwhelming.

But $10 is a little less overwhelming.

So, would you commit to partnering with us and would you commit to praying for us?

If so, simply use the PayPal donation widget below (if you don't see the PayPal widget you can donate here, too).

Please leave a comment with your first name.  I'd love to use each of your names in a special project for our little girl; something she can always have to remember how many people helped bring her home.

And, if you're so moved, would you share this post?  On your blog, on social media, through email?  May the LORD be glorified in it all...

Easy Spinach Artichoke Dip

Even though my hubby was working the night of the Super Bowl, I still wanted something tasty to snack on. So I made a spinach artichoke dip. I always love ordering it at restaurants when we go out, so I thought I'd give it a whirl myself. My mom gave me her recipe, except I tweaked it a little to make it my own.

What you'll need:

  • 1 can artichoke hearts (I like the ones are already quartered so you don't have to cut them)
  • 1 frozen box of creamed spinach, thawed in microwave for a few minutes
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1-1.5 cups of mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 cup mayo
  • 1/3 of the bar of cream cheese (give or take, I don't really measure this amount)
  • chopped tomatoes on top for garnish

Mix all of the ingredients together, except for the tomatoes.

Pour into a sprayed casserole dish, and top with a little extra mozzarella cheese and the chopped tomatoes. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for about 35-45 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and a little toasted around the edges of the dish. I took the foil off for the last 5-8 minutes to really get things gooey and melted.

Happy Kraftin!

Will You Be My Valentine--Shutterfly Giveaway

Love is in the air...that is for sure. I am definitely feeling Cupid's presence all around me. I think my hubby is too because I have been getting an awful lot of smooches from him lately. I have been secretly planning his gift for weeks now. But, I still haven't found the right card to go with it. To me, and many other lovey-dovey saps out there, that's the most important part of Valentine's Day! I am so tired of never finding the right card to give to him and all of my other loved ones during this very important occasion. These days, personalization is EVERYTHING! What better way to express your love than by giving them a personalized photo card or gift from Shutterfly?

One of Shutterfly's cute and personalized calendars

Remember that hot and steamy date night? Tickle his memory with a photo from that night, by putting it on one of Shutterfly's adorable new personalized Valentine's Day photo cards.

Maybe capture his heart by uploading your wedding photo to a water'll be on his heart even when he's sweating at the gym! How romantic...

Or, what would make his heart melt even more is a picture of you and the kids on a cute little desk top gift like stationary, a coffee mug, or even a mouse pad.

Some guys may even be into seeing a picture of their cat on a Valentine's card, although I highly recommend one of the other three options first. You will score big brownie points that way :)

I have been blessed with the opportunity to present to you some wonderful examples of personalized Valentine's Day cards and gifts. I did a post back over the Christmas Holiday about this company and how great they have been to me personally. I cannot describe in words the heart melting moments I experience when I open those bright orange packages from them. They help bring your most precious memories to life. I have been a long-time loyal customer and will remain one for many years to come! Here are a few of my favorite Valentine's Day items they have to offer:

At this point, I can't decide which one I will go with this year, they are all TOO CUTE! I love the modern color combination and design/layout of the "Love Grows" card. One of my favorite components is the variety in card sizes. You can get 6x8, 5x7, 4x8, 5x5, or 4x5. A girl's gotta have options!

Here is your chance to win some these amazing gifts for free! Below is a Rafflecopter form you will need to enter in order to be eligible. If selected you will receive 50 4x5 stationery classroom cards and 5x5 desktop plaque. The deadline for this is February 3 at midnight. Good luck!! ****IMPORTANT**** In order to be given credit for the first entry, you must visit the link provided and comment below on which of Shutterfly's gifts you like the most.
